FITS Winter Term Workshop 2004, January 7-28

The FITS Winter Term Workshop (January 7-28, 2004) is a highly individualized and focused workshop for which faculty members are invited to propose projects. Each workshop participant will be provided with a team of FITS staff members to help facilitate their project throughout the three week period. Typically, workshop attendees gather for one plenary session each week and participate in a project presentation at the conclusion of the workshop.

The 2004 Winter Term Workshop will focus on effective information presentation, specifically visual data, as well as the use of course and image management tools. Plenary sessions, readings and faculty presentations will explore clarity in visual explanation. As part of the presentation thread of the workshop, members of the FITS and Information Services staff will be available to provide training in the use of technology classrooms. During the three weeks, two management tools, Blackboard 6.0 and Luna, will be explored in detail. Finally, specific skills workshops will focus on imaging and digital video. Hands-on training for Adobe products including Acrobat and Photoshop, as well as Luna, Digital Video, and scanning will also be provided.
