GIS Day
is a global celebration scheduled each year during the National Geographic Society's Geography Awareness Week.
The purpose of GIS Day is to promote GIS (Geographic Information System) awareness and to educate people on how geography and GIS make a difference in their everyday lives. This year, as in past years, DePauw joined thousands of organizations worldwide and celebrated GIS Day by hosting a GIS Day event.
DePauw's GIS Day event showcased faculty, staff, and student projects via posters, multi-media displays, and demonstrations. Over 100 people attended this year's event, and 52 of them completed DePauw's GIS Day "GIS Quest" challenge.
