Alternative Break trips occur during fall and spring breaks at DePauw University. These trips offer students the opportunity to experience a short term off-campus service experience in various parts of the country. Each trip is led by a DePauw faculty or staff member.
Alternative Break... Why Should I Go?
Students who participate on Alternative Break trips are able to gain valuable insight while helping others in various means. Besides the service opportunity, students interested in a non-profit careers are able to experience a mini- internship during the week long project. Click here for more reasons!
Trip Costs 
Trips are inexpensive and transportation is provided by DePauw. The average cost of a trip ranges from $200-$300.
Past Projects
Alternative Break trips have travelled to many locations across the United States, such as New Orleans, LA, Hattiesburg, MS, Asheville, NC, Biloxi, MS, and have worked with such organizations as Habitat for Humanity, Mountain Housing Opportunities (building homes for low income families), and Hands on Gulf Coast.
