2009 Giving Tree

Civic Fellows, a Hartman House program, is once again proud to be a co-sponsor of The Giving Tree. The Giving Tree provides much needed clothing items, special needs gifts and other wished-for toys to children in our community. Civic Fellows is happy to facilitate the sponsorship process on DePauw’s campus.  In the past the program has provided for over 20 local families with the cooperation of DePauw offices and organizations.

This is a wonderful opportunity to spread goodwill and holiday cheer to others.  Whether your group has five dollars or five hundred dollars to give, The Giving Tree needs and wants your help. Here is how you can get involved:

1. Fill out the Giving Tree Interest Sheet (docx). Click here for pdf.

2. Return the interest sheet via e-mail or campus to the Hartman House by noon on Wednesday, November 18, 2009.

3. Share information about this wonderful program and get others involved by sending your friends and co-workers this informational letter and posting this flyer in your office or residence.

After we receive your interest sheet, we will match you with a family according to their needs and your organization’s ability to assist in this project. You will receive a more detailed e-mail and description of your task on Monday, November 23, 2009. The gifts will need to be delivered, unwrapped, to the Hartman House by Friday, December 4, 2009 before 5:00 p.m.

We hope the program will grow to sponsor more families than in years past. With your help, DePauw University can continue to make a difference in the lives of Greencastle families.

Please contact Kristen McMahon at civicfellows@depauw.edu or the Hartman House at (765) 658-4622 with any questions about the program.
