Despite Greencastle and DPU's small size, the students and faculty are very welcome of others, regardless of their backgrounds. Joining the Greek system has probably been my best experience at DePauw. Although Greek life was new to me, I liked it because of the strong friendships I made and my fraternity's dedication to academics. My Greek brothers have become my family at DePauw.

The highlight of my experience at DePauw University has been my involvement in different leadership positions on campus as well as my participation in the Science Research Fellows (SRF) program and a semester-long off-campus study program in Copenhagen through Denmark International Study (DIS). These programs have enabled me to network with distinguished scholars in different academic areas and make a lot of good friends and great memories of my college years.

DePauw is a great place to be. Keep asking for opportunities to learn new things. I have been able to take classes in a variety of areas: biology, psychology, philosophy, economics, computer science, English literature, theater, music, sports, Chinese and French. I have learned so much from my participation in the Information Technology Associates Program (ITAP) and program internships. I have had the opportunity to take lessons such as step dancing, break dancing, and salsa. DePauw has also offered me the opportunity to play many sports: soccer, American football, tennis, ultimate Frisbee, and volleyball. If there’s anything you are really interested in, ask around…chances are there are lots of people who share the same interests.

This experience gave me the opportunity to learn more about different cultures, not only from the American students, but also from students from all around the word. DPU is a nice, small community in which you can feel very secure. People here are very kind and they are really happy in helping you with anything you could need, which makes the adjustment period very smooth and comfortable.
