Purchasing Your Laptop

Delivery of the HP TabletPC has been taking 3+ weeks due to component shortages. If placing an order today, it will not arrive before classes begin. Orders can still be placed for the HP Tablet PC, however you will need to have it shipped to your DePauw address.

All students entering DePauw must select a Program Laptop offered by one of the following vendors.

DePauw has worked closely with Dell, Apple and HP to bring the latest technology and the best possible pricing to our students. Please use the links below to purchase your student laptop.

Shipping Information

The University has partnered with these vendors to configure specific models that are compatible with the University network, software in use at DePauw, as well as support programs that are offered. You may upgrade where offered on the vendor's web site. You must purchase your laptop computer via one of these web sites or via the specified telephone numbers to receive the appropriate pricing and configuration!

We are waiting for our vendors to confirm pricing or to submit final test results for preconfigured systems. As soon as we hear from Apple, HP or Dell, and they submit the needed information, we will post the updates here.

 

* The Dell and HP computers come with the University software bundle pre-installed and the cost of the software bundle is included in the manufacturer's price.

The Apple computers do not come pre-loaded with the required software bundle. Students who select an Apple Laptop must pick up their software bundle when they arrive in the fall. The software bundle can be picked up and paid for at the Information Services HelpDesk. The software fee also includes access to repair services and loaner services at the help desk.

** Corporate class models are designed for more enhanced durability than consumer class models and have more standardized components with longer lifecyles that ensure consistent and easier repairs when needed. DePauw recommends the corporate class model for all students.
