Software Bundle

DePauw has partnered with a variety of software vendors to provide a standard software package to all those students who purchase one of the DePauw program laptops.

Software bundles for the 2008-09 academic year are being reviewed with new agreements under negotiation.  The software for Fall 2008 will be announced at the same time the laptop hardware is announced.

In addition, when you arrive on campus, you can download additional DePauw-specific software from the Helpdesk's downloads page.

For those purchasing a Dell Laptop

The Dell laptop comes with the University software bundle pre-installed and the cost of the software bundle is included in the price when you purchase it from Dell. The student is entitled to new versions of the software as long as the student is enrolled at DePauw.  For 2008-09, the software includes:

  • Microsoft Office Enterprise 2007
    • Word 2007
    • Excel 2007
    • Outlook 2007
    • PowerPoint 2007
    • Access 2007
    • Publisher 2007
    • InfoPath 200
    • Groove 2007
    • OneNote 2007
  • Norton AntiVirus
  • Web Authoring Software
    • DePauw is negotiating a new contract for web authoring software.  Information on the specific software is therefore currently unavailable. (May 2008)

For those purchasing an Apple Laptop or HP Tablet PC

The selected Apple and HP computers do not come pre-loaded with the required software bundle. Students who select an Apple Laptop or an HP Tablet must pick up their software bundle when they arrive in the fall. The software bundle can be picked up and paid for at the Information Services HelpDesk for a one time fee of $199.  The price includes all new versions of the programs as long as the student is enrolled at DePauw.  For the 2008-09 academic year, the software includes:

    • Word 2008
    • Excel 2008
    • Outlook 2008
    • PowerPoint 2008
    • Entourage 2008
  • Web Authoring Software
