Usage Guidelines

Priority
At the Pulliam Center, facility usage priority is assigned to the following groups:
  1. Established student media activities
  2. Courses related to the study of media
  3. Non-media classes utilizing equipment only available in the PCCM
  4. University staff use
  5. Non-DePauw, community activities

Facilities Scheduling
Patrons are encouraged to schedule events as far in advance as possible to insure availability.  Major events (conferences, special events, events to be televised) should be scheduled at least a month in advance. In the event there are two events scheduled at the same time, preference will be given to the group highest in assigned priority. Events can be scheduled using the campus online scheduling system, by contacting the University Event Coordinator, Angie Battin, or by calling the PCCM at (765) 658-4475.

Equipment Scheduling
Television productions or projects requiring extensive equipment and facility usage must be scheduled at least a month in advance to insure availability. Major projects must be approved by the director, Larry Abed. Certain training workshops may be required for some equipment use.

 

Watson Forum - There is no fee for unsupervised oracademic (for a class) usage of the Forum during regular building hours. Any technical needs that cannot be covered by the user or the PCCM evening supervisor may require the use of a staff operator from IMS in Roy O. West Library (x4790), and could incur a cost.  Training on the Forum equipment is available and recommended.  Students must secure permission from the main office (x4475) or the evening supervisor to utilize furniture from other parts of the building in the Watson Forum.  The PCCM evening supervisor is available to help with training, set-up and implementation until 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday. Fees may be assessed for non-university patrons with extensive set-up needs.

Lounge/Kitchen - The lounge and kitchen facilities are available during regular building hours or by previous arrangement.  Catering and set-up should be managed by the person or group responsible for the activity. PCCM staff are available to help facilitate pre-event planning. Special arrangements can be made through the main office of the PCCM at x4475.

 

Television Productions - DePauw students and faculty are eligible to utilize PCCM production equipment free of charge.  Cameras are also available through IMS in Roy O. West Library. There are no usage fees for curricular or co-curricular usage.  Videotape and other supplies are sold at cost.  Students producing programs through the Student Television Board for D3TV can apply for budgets through that organization.  

 

Smoking/Food
There is no smoking in any area of the Pulliam Center for Contemporary Media. There is no eating or drinking in the Watson Forum, the computer labs, or in the operational areas of the TV, radio, or journalism facilities.
