Studebaker Hall

Studebaker HallThe Studebaker Administration Building provides offices for the University president, vice president for development and alumni relations, vice president for finance and administration, and registrar, as well as the student loan, accounting, institutional research, and human resources offices.

Plans for the Administration Building began in 1916, when Mrs. Clem Studebaker and her sons George and Clem, Jr. offered $50,000 for such a building, in honor of the late Clement Studebaker, who had been head of the foremost wagon building firm in the United States and had for twenty years been one of the most active trustees of Asbury and DePauw. The building was completed and dedicated in June 1918. It made possible the assembling of the administrative offices, previously scattered over the campus, into a beautiful building adequate for the limited administrative staff of that time. Its second floor included an especially attractive room paneled with gumwood for faculty and trustee meetings.

The summer of 1962 saw a major addition to the Administrative Building, enlarging it to its current dimensions.
