This camp is not taking place during summer 2008.
This week-long camp offers students who have completed the 8th grade the opportunity to explore DePauw's 500-acre Nature Park with college professors. During the week, camp participants will conduct experiments in biology, explore the biology of caterpillars and butterflies, identify plants, explore the colonization of the abandoned limestone quarry, interpret the natural history of the quarry, watch and identify nesting songbirds and turkey vultures, explore the geology of the 350 million year old rock layers, identify fossil formations, digitally photograph the landscape and explore creative writing in natural settings.
Camp faculty include Vanessa Artman, assistant professor of biology, Megan Michael, DePauw student intern, Dana Dudle, associate professor of biology, Wade Hazel, professor of biology, Jim Mills, associate professor of geosciences, Steve Timm, associate professor of communications and theatre, and Cynthia O'Dell, associae professor of art.
