WGRE Philanthropy, Winter Term 2005
South End Community Center
WGRE chose to raise money for the South End Community Center as our
Winter Term Philanthropy. The Center serves all residents of the South
End, but is especially
concerned with black youth, families and seniors. During the school
year,
their main emphasis is on after-school tutoring and computers. During
the
summer they plan to run a full range of programs, including a
continuation of
the Putnam County Youth Radio project that runs at WGRE. We were able to collect $200 to donate to the Center
through a several different events.

The Housing and
Residence Life Office invited WGRE to provide music and bring the crew
down to Reese Hall for the Rector Coffee House on Tuesday, January 18.
The turnout was excellent, and WGRE was able to raise money for our
Winter Term philanthropy.
