INSERTING TITLE AND META TAGS WITH FRONT PAGE 2002

Inserting title tags to describe your pages to the browser.
  1. Click on File | Properties.
     
  2. Click on the General tab.
     
  3. Enter the title of the page including "DePauw University:"
     
  4. Click OK

Note:  Include DePauw University in your pages to clarify the location of your pages.  For example, the title "Human Resources" does not specify the University for which the location refers.

  2. Click on the Custom tab.
     
  3. Under User Variables, click Add.
     
  4. In the Name: text box, enter Keywords.
     
  5. In the Value: text box, enter words describing your page (ie Human Resources, Policies and Procedures.

Note:  The following HTML tag is added to the page:

<META NAME="keywords" CONTENT="Human Resources, Policies and Procedures">

Inserting title tags to STOP search engine robots from indexing your pages.

The "robots" meta tag can prevent search engines from indexing your pages  Insert the description tag by following the steps for inserting User Variables.  Use the value, "noindex, nofollow" to prevent search engines from indexing your pages.
