Google Chrome History Extension

Yechan Hong

Most browsers’ history views are long linear lists that are uninformative and difficult to use. My project is a Google Chrome extension that will improve the default history view. The extension will replace the default history view with an intuitive tree based view that will display how the user has navigated through the websites. In addition, the user will be able to perform a search on the web history, in which the extension will construct a tree graph of the user’s web navigation based on the search parameters. The user will be able to interact with the graph, adding or deleting elements to the graph. The extension will significantly improve the user’s web use as they can see an ordered log of their web history, allowing them to effectively recall their thoughts and processes during their web history. The extension may also reveal interesting website traversing behaviors of the user that may worthwhile to study.
