Smart Mirror
Michael Spier
This project will consist of the development of a full-screen website, and the implementation of a web server to allow this site to be hosted locally on a Raspberry Pi microcontroller housed within a custom-built "smart mirror" device. The Raspberry Pi, running the latest version of the Raspian operating system, will be configured to boot immediately into the Chromium web browser (in full-screen "kiosk" mode), enabling the viewing of a constantly-updating, custom-built, interactive site. The website will be designed to pull data from multiple sources and display it cleanly on the surface of the mirror. Voice command functionality will be integrated to allow a user to show or hide a calendar. Construction of the mirror's physical hardware will also be an aspect of the project, but will not be as substantial as the software development portion.
