Student Receives Best Undergraduate Poster Award at the 2012 Indiana Celebration of Women in Computing Conference (Spring, 2012)
Congratulations are in order for Allana Johnson, who received the Best Undergraduate Poster Award at the 2012 Indiana Celebration of Women in Computing Conference held in February, 2012. Allana’s poster was entitled “FocUs: Discouraging Electronic Distraction Using Persausive Technology”.
Allana completed the research described in this poster during the summer of 2011 with funding from the DePauw University Science Research Fellows Program. Additional DePauw students working on this project were Reid Connor, J.D. Hoover, Jake Meyer and Vedant Singhania. J.D. was also sponsored by the Science Research Fellows Program, Jake and Reid were sponsored by DePauw’s National Science Foundation Research Experiences for Undergraduates grant, and Vedant was sponsored by the DePauw University ITAP program. The students were mentored by an interdisciplinary team of faculty members consisting of Dave Berque (Computer Science), Terri Bonebright (Psychology) and Michael Roberts (Psychology).
