Three Majors Receive Scholarships to Attend TRIWIC (Spring, 2016)
Justine Clarke, Ama Sefa-Dapaah, and Rachel Stewart all received scholarships to attend the Tri-State (Indiana, Kentucky, and Ohio) Celebration of Women in Computing conference – held in Cincinnati, Ohio, February 19-20, 2016. The women listened to distinguished technical speakers, such as Dr. Jennifer Marsman, principal developer at Microsoft, and Dr. Deb Agarwal, Advanced Computing for Science department head at the Lawrence Berkeley National Lab. Dr. Agarwal’s research focuses on scientific tools that enable the sharing of scientific experiments, advanced networking infrastructure to support the sharing of scientific data, data analysis support infrastructure for eco-science, and cybersecurity infrastructure to secure collaborative environments.
Rachel Stewart (pictured) presented a talk entitled, "Five Habits of Trailblazers". You may want to ask Rachel about her five ideas, when you see her!
