234A: Bioethics

Is abortion wrong? What about cloning, or animal research, or having children--or not? In this course, we will explore these and other important ethical topics in biology, medicine, and related fields and consider what they can teach us about ethical life and thought in general. No prior experience with philosophy is expected or required.
