Description: Are you interested in Music in College? Visit us for an informal conversation where we can answer your questions about the application and audition process, scholarships, degree programs, and performing opportunities. Description: Take the leap into making a life of music! This interactive session features a discussion with our major ensemble conductors: Craig Paré (University Bands), Eric Schmidt (University Choirs), Orcenith Smith (Symphony Orchestra), Steve Snyder (Jazz Ensemble), and George Palton (School of Music Admission). All students, regardless of major, are welcome to join to learn more about musical opportunities at DePauw.

The Healing Power of Music with Dr. Eric Schmidt, Director of University Choirs

Description: Have you ever met someone that does not like to listen to music? Has music ever sent shivers down your spine or even made you cry? Did you notice that music exists in every culture around the world? Somehow humans seem to need music – why is that? Join Dr. Eric Schmidt who will explore these questions in a sample lecture. Prospective students of all majors and backgrounds are welcome.

Description: Interested in music? How about Jazz? What do you know about the blues? Join us for an improvisation workshop focused on the blues, blues chords, blues forms, and improvisation in general. All performers are welcome!
