What makes your experience at DePauw Gold Within?

DePauw is truly Gold Within. To me, that is most evident in the faculty and staff. All of my professors give 110% every day, and you can tell in how they teach their classes that they love doing what they are doing. I have grown so much in my first year because of how my professors pushed me and gave me all of the tools I needed to learn best. All the staff invest so much of their time to keep us on our toes and make our time in class and outside of class the best. I feel like I have a second family here at DePauw.
What does being a 21st Century Musician mean to you?
Being a 21st Century Musician means being adaptable and innovative. 21st century music is not like any other. There are so many new and inventive ways to create, perform, and distribute music, and because of that we have to be adaptable. The best representation of this is what we are doing during this pandemic. Ensembles are able to play together from different states! We are doing the unimaginable and all of us are stepping into the challenge and making it our own.

Voice and Choral Faculty

The voice faculty members and choral conductor at DePauw teach all applied voice lessons, voice classes, workshops, and ensembles. All voice faculty members are active recitalists and clinicians, as well as judges for state and regional competitions including the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS).
