DePauw University Choirs

Add to Calendar7:30 pm – 9:00 pm

Eric Schmidt, director and conductor

The DePauw Chamber Singers and University Chorus will embark on a choral journey around the world, highlighting secular songs from different countries or regions that all share the experience of changing borders and the question of national or cultural belonging. Melancholic Chinese folk tunes join moments of Basque and Irish cheerfulness. Celebrated Broadway hits soothe the gloom of Spanish poetry. And the lonely cowboy from the Wild West finally gets a chance to meet Hawai’ian beauty and South African energy. In addition to linguistic challenges, this geographic experiment will echo the theme of ever-changing borders by blurring the divisions between the two choirs.

Curious? Join us on Wednesday, March 13 at 7:30 p.m.

General admission: $5

Tickets for seniors, youth and all students are free.
