Screening of "Wonder Women: The Untold Story of American Superheroines" documentarian, Kristy Guevara-Flanagan, will introduce, screen and conduct a Q & A on her film.

Add to Calendar7:00 pm – 9:00 pm

The film speaks of the importance of Wonder Woman in popular culture (the comic books and later T.V.) as a model for young girls, as it also uses the image of Wonder Woman to build a narrative about the history of feminism in the U.S.  The range of interviewees—little girl devotees, feminist scholars, Gloria Steinem, actresses (Lynda Carter and others), Kathleen Hanna, immigrant moms, students, comic book creators (Trina Robbins and Gail Simone)--indicate the richness of Guevara-Flanagan’s exploration into superheroine icons and their impact on the culture.
