Rev. Kate Smanik joined the staff of DePauw University in 2010. She is a graduate of theCollege of Wooster (2001, B.A.) and Yale University (2005, M.Div.). Kate is an active member of the National Association of College and University Chaplains, the Association of College and University Religious Affairs, ACPA and NASPA. In the fall of 2014, Kate began her doctoral studies at Indiana University School of Education where her research focuses on the role of Chaplaincy in higher education.
Kate was awarded the Rev. Max E. Case Award by the Indiana Higher Education Ministries organization in the fall of 2013 in recognition of her work. She was the President of NACUC in 2015-2016 and was on the Directorate for the Commission on Faith, Religion, Spirituality and Meaning for ACPA. Kate lives with her family in Greencastle, IN.
