Faculty & Staff Campaign
A strong giving program among faculty and staff demonstrates that our institution’s employees model the practice of giving. Faculty and staff donors can inspire others to step forward and invest in DePauw.
DePauw employees have the unique opportunity to designate their gift to any area on campus. Each year, faculty and staff members support every aspect of the DePauw experience through the Faculty & Staff Campaign. Whether it is for an academic department fund, athletic team, scholarship or endowment, every gift matters. Participation in the Faculty & Staff Campaign indicates a belief in the University’s mission and helps create a culture of philanthropy in the DePauw community.
Payroll deduction is a quick and easy way to participate in the Faculty & Staff Campaign. To enroll, complete the form and return to the Office of Annual Giving.

Why does DePauw need faculty and staff support?
Employee giving is used as a way for college ranking institutions to compare DePauw to peer colleges and universities and can be an indicator of the belief faculty and staff have in the University. Since tuition pays for less than half of what it costs to educate a student, DePauw relies significantly on philanthropy. Alumni, parents, friends, faculty, and staff are key sources of support for the University.
How much should I give?
Any amount will support the variety of students and programs at DePauw. Participation is just as important as the dollars given in the Faculty & Staff Campaign, and every gift will make a difference.
How can I give?
You can participate in the Faculty & Staff Campaign in the following ways: gifts of cash brought to the Development Office (300 E. Seminary St.), credit card, check, payroll deduction or transfer of securities. If you are interested in providing for DePauw with a deferred or future gift to the University, you can do so by contacting Eric Motycka, director of legacy and estate planning, at 765-658-4216 or by email, email@example.com.
How does payroll deduction work?
Payroll deduction is one of the most convenient ways to make a gift. When you enroll in payroll deduction, your gift is automatically deducted from your paycheck for the exact amount and timeframe you stipulate. You can find the payroll deduction form here.
What if my spouse or partner works for a company that matches charitable giving?
A number of employers participate in matching gift programs, allowing the opportunity to double or even triple your contribution to DePauw. If your spouse or partner’s employer is a participant in a matching gift program, please send the company’s matching gift form to the office of development following your own commitment to the University.
Is my gift tax deductible?
Gifts to DePauw University are tax deductible to the fullest extent allowed by state and federal law. We always recommend that you consult with your tax, financial, or legal counsel for more information about the tax benefits of any gift.
I already made a gift this year; do I have to make another to participate in the Faculty & Staff campaign?
Any contribution made to DePauw University during the fiscal year (July 1, 2017 – June 30, 2018) qualifies you as a donor and a participant in the year’s campaign. Thank you!
How will my gift be recognized?
Our Honor Roll of Donors will contain a listing of all alumni, parents, faculty, staff, and friends who contribute financially to DePauw. If you do not wish to have your name printed in the report, please check the appropriate box online, on the payroll deduction form or call the Annual Giving office at 1-800-446-5298.
Do gifts to the Faculty & Staff Campaign count toward The Campaign for DePauw?
Yes, all gifts made to the Faculty & Staff Campaign – regardless of amount or designation – will count toward The Campaign for DePauw.
