Dana S. Cummings '99, CFRE
Associate Vice President for Development
Dana S. Cummings is a higher education fundraising and advancement leader with a decade-long track record of demonstrated success in major gifts fundraising, alumni relations, annual fund, online giving, student engagement, management, and team building.
Dana has spent ten years working in development at Indiana University – most recently as Executive Director, Development & Alumni Relations for the IU School of Optometry. In this role, Dana was responsible for the School’s $11 million fundraising goal, as well as leading a professional team and managing all aspects of the Office of Advancement. Other roles at IU included Director of Development & Special Gifts at the IU School of Education and Director of the IU Student Foundation.
Dana is an alumna of DePauw University, majoring in anthropology and receiving her Bachelor of Arts degree in 1999. She also went on to receive a Master of Public Affairs (MPA) degree in 2005 from the Indiana University School of Public and Environmental Affairs on the Bloomington campus, and her Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) credential in 2014 from the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP).
Dana’s husband, Paul, is a 2001 graduate of DePauw, as well. They live in Greencastle, Indiana, with their three children: PJ, Owen, and Susan.
