#6 Tigers Shoot 60 Percent on Way to 15th Straight Win

DSC 0767Springfield, Ohio - Sixth-ranked DePauw shot a season-high 60 percent from the floor and never trailed on the way to a 90-53 North Coast Athletic Conference win at Wittenberg. The visiting Tigers improved to 16-1 overall and 9-0 in the NCAC with their 15th straight win, while Wittenberg dropped to 8-8 overall and 4-4 in the conference.

DePauw held an early 9-7 lead before scoring eight straight at the start of a 14-2 run which gave it a 23-9 lead midway through the first half. The margin was still 14 at 35-21 before DePauw scored the final 12 points of the half with Alex Gasaway (pictured) scoring the final 10.

Wittenberg was as close as 22 in the second half, but DePauw gradually stretched the lead to as many as 45 at 83-38 with 6:14 left.

Gasaway led the Tigers with a career-high 28 points on 13-of-15 shooting, while grabbing nine rebounds. Ali Ross added 14 points and Katie Aldrich 11. Ellie Pearson snagged a game-high 10 rebounds and Kate Walker dished out six assists with Kathryn Denbow totaling three steals.

Katelyn Haralamos paced Wittenberg with 17 points, while Enri Small chipped in 13 and Sarah Watson 10. Kim Replogle led the way with five rebounds and Small had four steals.

DePauw hit 36-60 from the field and knocked down 7-of-14 three-pointers after entering the game as the nation's leader in three-point percentage.  The Tigers also held a 42-22 edge on the boards and committed just 12 turnovers. Wittenberg shot 38.9 percent from the floor in the loss.

DePauw returns to action on Saturday, January 28, when it travels to Ohio Wesleyan.
