DePauw Men End Scoreless Drought; Pick up NCAC Win

Greencastle, Ind. - A pair of second-half goals propelled #25 DePauw to a 2-1 North Coast Athletic Conference victory over Denison at Boswell Field.

With the win, the Tigers improved to 5-0-2 overall and 1-0 in the NCAC, while the Big Red dropped to 3-3-1 overall and 0-1 in conference play.

The teams played through a scoreless first half before DePauw struck first. George Elliott delivered a cross to Adrian Ables who headed the ball to Nate Snyder. Snyder then knocked it in for the game's first goal.

Denison's Bob Casarona knotted the score at 1-1 at 61:45 on a double assist from Ryan Fine and J.J. Dix. DePauw's Patrick Reineke then brought home the game winner with just 6:03 left on Andy Morrison's assist.

The Tigers outshot Denison 17-9 including a 6-3 advantage in shots on goal. DePauw also led in corners, 6-4.

Tony Halterman totaled two saves in the win for DePauw, while the Big Red's Matt Wagner finished with four stops.

DePauw's streak of not allowing an opposing player to score ended at over 660 minutes.

The Tigers return to play on Saturday, October 22, at Hiram in a 3 p.m. NCAC match.
