DePauw Spikes Way to 17 Straight Victories

Greencastle, Ind. – Behind a stellar defensive effort by the frontline, the DePauw volleyball team topped the Ladies of Kenyon in three sets (25-10, 25-15, 25-23) en route to its 17th-straight match victory at Neal Fieldhouse.

With the victory the Tigers improved to 17-2 overall, including a perfect, 4-0 record in NCAC play. Kenyon dropped to 3-12 and 1-3 in the NCAC. 

DePauw used a balanced attack to take down the Ladies on Saturday. Twelve different Tigers notched a kill throughout the match with Emma Peacha leading the way with seven, while hitting .750. Lauren Falotico had six kills and only two errors on 24 attempts and Hannah Nelson tallied five kills on ten errorless swings.

The Tigers hit .356 for the match and powered home 38 kills to go along with only six errors. Of the 39-team digs, DePauw libero Keely McGrath accounted for a team-leading 10. Additionally, Tori Bowerman accounted for seven digs, Faith Rolwes six and Falotico five.

Rolwes, the primary setter for the Tigers, once again led the Tigers in assists with 21. During the third and deciding set, Maggie Cochrane added five assists for DePauw.

DePauw takes to the road next Wednesday for a clash of undefeated NCAC squads as they battle third-ranked Wittenberg at Pam Smith Arena in Springfield, Ohio.
