Kelsey SmithDestin, Fla. - Paige Gooch (Jr., Fort Mitchell, Ky./Beechwood) and Kelsey Smith (Jr., Indianapolis, Ind./Hamilton Southeastern) each shot 77 in today's third round to lead DePauw to a 321 team score and sixth place overall with one round remaining at the NCAA Division III Championships at the Baytowne Golf Course at Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort.

Gooch (far left) totaled three birdies on the day and played the front nine at one-over-par and is tied for fourth with a three-round total of 228. Smith (near left) had one birdie with 12 pars in the third round and is tied for 18th at 238.

Camila Romero (Sr., Cali, Colombia/Colegio Bolivar) and Abby Dickey (Jr., Elk Grove Village, Ill./St. Viator) are both tied for 54th at 250 after Dickey finished with an 82 today and Romero with an 85. Jacqueline Carroll (Fr., Upper Arlington, Ohio) totaled a 96 today and 263 for the tournament. 

Laura Lindsey of Texas-Tyler leads the 111-player field with a 221, while Kelsey Morrison of George Fox and Jennifer Sullivan of Methodist are tied for second with 224. Gooch is tied with Taylor O'Rear of Mary Hardin-Baylor. 

Mary Hardin-Baylor leads the 21-team field with a 928 and holds a seven-stroke lead over the University of Texas at Tyler. George Fox is third at 943 followed by Methodist in fourth at 948 and Williams in fifth with a 957.

DePauw, making its 12th straight NCAA appearance, has competed in all but the first two Division III Championships with nine top-four finishes including runner-up performances in 2007, 2008 and 2012. Last year the Tigers were second to Methodist by just six strokes. DePauw's 12 appearances ties Wisconsin-Eau Claire for the second-most in Division III history behind 13-time champion Methodist's 14.
