Hugh Finson '69 Appointed Illinois Circuit Court Judge

William H. "Hugh" Finson, an attorney and 1969 graduate of DePauw University, has been appointed by the Illinois Supreme Court to serve as resident circuit judge of Piatt County in the Sixth Judicial Circuit Court. Finson, who has worked as both a public defender and state's attorney, will assume the post on September 4 and his term will continue through December 1, 2014. (photo by Steve Hoffman)

"I am flattered, humbled and grateful to the Supreme Court and Justice Garman for their confidence in me by their appointment," Finson says. "I am eager to serve ectower duskthe people of Piatt County on the bench, and looking forward to starting work."

A history major and Rector Scholar at DePauw, Finson earned a law degree from the University of Illinois.
