'The Art of Data' Combines Science & Art, Feb. 1 - July 15

Science meets art in "The Art of Data", an exhibition that will begin February 1 at DePauw University's Richard E. Peeler Art Center and remain on view through July 15. It is free and open to all.

Under the guidance of Dan Gurnon, associate professor of chemistry and biochemistry, and in collaboration with the Peeler Art Center curatorial staff, eleven seniors in DePauw’s Science Research Fellows program have selected representations of scientific data from their respective disciplines for this exhibition. The images and displays represent data that the students found visually compelling, and data that illustrate important concepts or techniques from the students’ own fields.  A short explanation of science behind the image, written for non-scientists, accompanies each submission.

Scientific fields represented include: biology, chemistry, physics, geoscience, psychology, computer science, and public health.

The galleries at the Richard E. Peeler Art Center are open Monday-through-Friday from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.; Saturday 11 a.m. - 5 p.m.; and Sunday 1 – 5 p.m., and are closed during University breaks and holidays.  Click here for more information about special events associated with this exhibition.
