Prof. Derek Ford to Speak at 2018 Global Peace Forum on Korea

September 24, 2018

Derek R. Ford, assistant professor of education studies at DePauw University, will be among the presenters at the 2018 Global Peace Forum on Korea (GPFK). The event, which takes place at Columbia University in New York on September 29 - 30, has a theme of “Peace and Prosperity for Korea and the World.”

Other speakers at the event will include former president Jimmy Carter, who will present a congratulatory opening address, and Rosemary A. DiCarlo, undersecretary for political affairs for the United Nations. The two day event "will feature former and current government officials, globally-renowned scholars and experts, and members of the news business communities from the U.S., both Koreas, China, Japan and Russia," notes the organizing committee.

"This historic forum comes on the heels of both the April 27 Panmunjom Declaration and the June 12 Singapore Summit. Our aim is to advance the path to real and lasting peace on the Korean peninsula through genuine dialogue, and your voice is crucial in this exchange of ideas and perspectives."
