School of Music Concerts at DePauw

March 7, 2001, Greencastle, Ind. - The week of March 12 at DePauw University's School of Music provides many concert opportunities with three visiting artists, a faculty/guest recital, and a senior percussion recital.

On Monday, March 12 at 7:30 p.m. there will be a Horn and Strings Recital featuring Adjunct Assistant Professor of Horn Rick Graef, assisted by Associate Professor of Cello Eric Edberg, guest violinist Jen Farquhar, Adjunct Instructor of Viola Amy Long Kniffen, guest violinist Phil Palermo, and Adjunct Assistant Professor of Viola Michael Strauss.

On Tuesday, March 13 at 3 p.m. in the Indianapolis Opera Ensemble will present opera excerpts. Composer Richard Hundley will be in residence at the School of Music TOWER CLOSE UP 2on Wednesday and Thursday, March 14-15. His activities include a question/answer session on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m., a lecture/discussion on Thursday at 3 p.m., and a lecture/mini-concert on Thursday at 7:30 p.m.

Pianist Karen Shaw, Professor of Piano at Indiana University, will give a master class on Saturday, March 17, at 2 - 5 p.m. and a concert on Sunday, March 18, at 3 p.m. Alissa Handy, senior in the School of Music, will present a percussion recital on Saturday, March 17, at 7:30 p.m.

All events are in the Performing Arts Center, Thompson Recital Hall and are free and open to the public.
