Renowned Violinist Brings the World to DePauw Students

May 4, 2001

May 4, 2001, Greencastle, Ind. - Internationally renowned violinist Federico Agostini came to DePauw University to perform a recital, but left this campus with more than musical memories. In addition to his April 29th piano and violin recital with DePauw School of Music faculty pianist Claude Cymerman, Agostini spent a week in residency giving master classes in violin and chamber music and working with students on an individual basis.

“This was a remarkably unique opportunity for DePauw music students,” said Cymerman of the visit by Agostini, who lives in Holland, teaches in Germany, and performs worldwide. “He really brought these young musicians a new perspective and left them with new ideas and new energies. His visit created a lot of excitement and motivation.”
