DePauw Band Presents Free Concert and Haunted House Sunday

October 22, 2001, Greencastle, Ind. - The DePauw University Band, under the direction of Dr. Craig Paré, will present a Halloween concert on Sunday, October 28, 2001 at 1:30 p.m. in Kresge Auditorium. The program, an annual event presented by the University Band, will include a variety of works for concert band that will appeal to listeners of all ages:
Festivo— Edward Gregson
The Whistler and His Dog— Arthur Pryor
Grand Serenade for An Awful Lot of Winds and Percussion— P.D.Q. Bach
On The Mall— Edwin Franko Goldman
Danse (Tarantella Styrienne)— Claude Debussy
Slava!— Leonard Bernstein

Immediately following the University Band concert, the DePauw University student chapter of Music Educators National Conference (MENC) will sponsor its annual “Musical Haunted House” in the spooky confines of the Performing Arts Center Basement. Children ages 12 and under will have the opportunity to meet and hear all of the instruments of the woodwinds, brass, strings, and percussion families, in addition to vocal and piano demonstrations.
