Former Congressman Al Swift to Deliver Talk Thursday Night

October 29, 2001

October 29, 2001, Greencastle, Ind. - In the wake of the attacks on America, many issues that had been front and center have fallen by the wayside. This Thursday, November 1, former U.S. Congressman Al Swift will be on the DePauw University campus for a 7:30 talk entitled, "After September 11, Does Campaign Finance Reform Still Matter?" The speech, to be held in Watson Forum of the Pulliam Center for Contemporary Media, is sponsored by the Media Fellows Program.

Al Swift served 8 terms in congress (1979-1995) representing Washington State. He is also an Emmy Award-winning broadcaster; has served as vice president of government relations for Burlington Northern Railroad, and is presently principal partner of Colling, Swift & Hynes, a legislative and regulatory affairs consulting firm.

Swift's DePauw appearance is free and open to the public.
