John Kellogg '62 New VP of Marketing at Simpson College

December 5, 2001

December 5, 2001, Greencastle, Ind. - John A. Kellogg, a 1962 graduate of DePauw University, has been named the new vice president for marketing at Simpson College in Indianola, Iowa. The appointment essentially forms a new department at the college, one that will assume responsibility for centralizing marketing and brand building efforts at the college. Kellogg will direct the college's overall marketing efforts and be assisted by a marketing committee made up of representatives from across Simpson's campus community.

“This is the logical next step in my career,” said Kellogg. “I've been selling Simpson and the benefits of a small, private liberal arts education for years. People need to be aware of the high quality of experience we have here, be they prospective students, donors, businesses, foundations or adult learners. I'll begin to look at the different approaches we can use to refine our brand.”

He has worked for Dakota Wesleyan University, DePauw University, Xerox Corporation and DuPont Corporation. From 1962 to 1966 he was a Marine Corps officer.

“I appreciate John Kellogg's willingness to lead this new coordinated effort,” said Kevin LaGree, president of Simpson College. “He brings to these new responsibilities a deep love for Simpson and more than twenty years commitment to telling the Simpson story.”
