Three Free Concerts Mark 'Summer Music Fest 2002'

June 6, 2002

June 6, 2002, Greencastle, Ind. - The DePauw University School of Music is holding its annual Summer Music Fest 2002, a vocal performance workshop for high school students, from June 9-15 on the DePauw campus. Thirty-three students will be participating in this year's seven-day intensive, having an opportunity to take private voice lessons, be involved in acting and master classes, perform mock auditions, and explore the many facets of majoring in music at the collegiate level.

The festivities begin Sunday, June 9, when participants and their guests are invited to a picnic dinner followed by a short opening concert of light music featuring DePauw faculty at 7 p.m. in Thompson Recital Hall. On Tuesday, June 11, at 7 p.m. in Thompson, eleven DePauw voice majors will present a concert of varied voice repertoire for the workshop participants, and the week will culminate with a final recital program on Saturday, June 15, at 10 a.m. in the Recital Hall. All workshop registrants will perform, and there will be a reception following the performance for the workshop participants and their guests to conclude the week.

All three concerts are free and open to the public.
