September 29, 2002

September 29, 2002, Greencastle, Ind. - "Gigi Jennewein, who teaches at DePauw University and has directed at the Phoenix [Theatre], is playing Mam Mam, April's grandmother and the matriarch of the family," Marion Garmel writes in today's Indianapolis Star in a story previewing He Held Me Grand, which opens Friday at the Indiana Repertory Theatre. The "millennium play" by 42-year-old playwright James Still is based on hundreds of interviews with senior citizens in Indiana and Pennsylvania. The article dominates the front page of the Star's Arts & Entertainment section.

Garmel notes that Jennewein is part of a "large cast, playing nine ancestors and eight living characters, [and] full of actors familiar to Indianapolis audiences." Gigi Jennewein Fenlon is an instructor in the department of communication arts and sciences at DePauw.
