More Snow Falls on Central Indiana

January 5, 2003

January 5, 2003, Greencastle, Ind. - Approximately 2 inches of snow fell overnight across Central Indiana, putting a fresh topping on the 3 to 4 inches that remain on the ground from Thursday's storm. Forecasters are calling for more snow overnight and Monday, with another 1 to 3 inches of possible accumulation by Monday afternoon.

Indiana State Police report that all interstate highways in Central Indiana are wet to snow covered and slick in spots. Main roads are said to be snow covered and slick, while secondary roads are covered in snow and ice are also icy. However, by all reports the roads are in much better shape than they were Thursday morning, and the new snow is described as "light and fluffy". In fact, by Sunday afternoon much of the new snow had melted.
