Comedian Emmy Gay to Celebrate Diversity Saturday Night

February 4, 2003, Greencastle, Ind. - This Saturday, February 8, Emmy Gay will bring her unique blend of comedy, poetry, spoken word and storytelling to the campus of DePauw University for an 8 p.m. performance in Thompson Recital Hall of the Performing Arts Center. Gay's presentation of "Nappy Hair: A Celebration of Diversity" is free and open to the public.

Emmy Gay has made appearances in comedy clubs across America, at the Fourth World Conference on Women in Beijing, China, and on the Fox series New York Undercover. Through humor, wit, and irony, Gay uses her real-life experiences to help audiences see beyond stereotypes without blaming or accusing. "Nappy Hair" is presented in conjunction with African-American Heritage Month.
