February 13, 2003

February 13, 2003, Greencastle, Ind. - S. Page Cotton, Jr., director of athletics and recreational sports, professor of kinesiology and head coach of men's soccer at DePauw University, has been inducted into the Indiana Soccer Hall of Fame. Cotton was inducted in ceremonies held Saturday, February 8 at the Artsgarden in downtown Indianapolis.

A 1969 graduate of Springfield College, Page Cotton is in his seventh year as director of athletics and recreational sports and recently completed his 34th season as head men's soccer coach. In that nearly three-and-a-half decade span, his teams have compiled a 338-161-27 record for a .668 winning percentage. Eight of Cotton's teams have earned appearances in the NCAA Championships, with the most recent coming in 2000.

During the Tigers' nine years in the Indiana Collegiate Athletic Conference they won all 54 of their conference games to set the NCAA Division III record. Cotton was the conference's coach of the year in each of those seasons. Coach Cotton recently served as chair of the NCAA Division III Men's Soccer Championship Committee.

"Page Cotton's dedication to the development of student-athletes has touched several generations of DePauw students and, as this honor suggests, has also enriched the sport of soccer," said DePauw University President Robert G. Bottoms. "We join in saluting Page, and are proud to call him a member of the DePauw University family."
