Men's Basketball Team Clinches Share of SCAC Title, Star Notes

February 21, 2003, Greencastle, Ind. - "DePauw (16-6, 11-1) has clinched a share of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference title with two regular-season games remaining before the conference tournament begins February 27," the Indianapolis Star's Jeff Rabjohns notes in this morning's edition of the newspaper. He adds, "The Tigers' 63-52 victory at Rose-Hulman was the 183rd in coach Bill Fenlon's 11 years at DePauw, breaking the school record of 182 held by Elmer McCall (1958-78). DePauw has won seven in a row and 13 of 14 and is receiving votes in the Division III poll. Senior center Joe Ringger is third in the SCAC in scoring (17.8) and leads the league in rebounding (9.7)."

DePauw's women's basketball team is now ranked 17th in Division III, has won eight straight and 14 of their last 15 games, and are 19-3 overall and 11-1 in the SCAC and one game behind league leader Trinity headed into tonight's game in San Antonio. Read more by clicking here.
