Two School of Music Faculty Members to Perform at National Convention

June 20, 2003

June 20, 2003, Greencastle, Ind. - Two DePauw University School of Music faculty members -- Anne Reynolds, adjunct professor of flute, and Amanda Hopson, staff accompanist and adjunct assistant professor of piano -- will join Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra cellist Anne Duthie McCafferty in a performance at the National Flute Association Convention in Las Vegas, Nevada, August 7-10.  They will be featured in a Piano Trio concert performing a work by the late French composer Jean Francaix.  It will be the fourth time they have performed this piece this year.  It was heard in Greencastle last September, at the University of Indianapolis in February, and in a concert series in Nashville, Indiana, in May.

Anne Reynolds is principal flutist of the Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra and a long time professor at DePauw University and the University of Indianapolis.   She was a member of the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, and continues to perform with the ISO as a substitute and extra.  She will be featured in performances of George Crumb's An Idyll for the Misbegotten with the Percussion Plus Project, DePauw's ensemble-in-residence, in 2004.

Amanda Hopson is keyboard coordinator in the School of Music and a frequent freelance accompanist and chamber music performer. She often focuses on contemporary music, and has worked with many well-known composers, most recently with Tania Leon in the DePauw School of Music's "Music of the 21st Century" project. She is a member of the chamber trio Triptych, and also collaborates with her husband Andrew Hopson on his scores for plays at the Indiana Repertory Theatre and other theatres around the country.
