School of Music Prof. Hye-Seon Choi Presents Piano Recital Monday Night

September 19, 2003, Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw University School of Music faculty member Hye-Seon Choi will perform a piano recital Monday, September 22 at 7:30 p.m. in Thompson Recital Hall of the Performing Arts Center. The concert will include works by composers including Joseph Haydn, Maurice Ravel, Frederic Chopin, John Corigliano and Franz Schubert. The event is free and open to the public.

Choi earned a bachelor of music degree in piano performance from Doung-Duk University in Seoul and the performer's diploma and master of music in piano performance from the Indiana University School of Music. Her performing career has included solo recitals as well as chamber music for instruments and voice. She has presented recitals in Korea, the United States, and Canada, where she was recently invited to perform at the Festival of the Sound in northern Ontario. She is currently completing her doctor of musical arts degree at Indiana University and has studied with Sung-Hae Kim, Karen Shaw and Edward Auer. Choi is featured on the CD Songs and Instrumental Music by Alexandra Pierce on Arizona University Recording's Contemporary Composer and Performer Series.
