November 14, 2003, Greencastle, Ind. - Darren Wells, vice president and treasurer of the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company and a 1987 graduate of DePauw University, is recognized in the November issue of Treasury & Risk Management magazine as one of the nation's top finance executives under the age of 40. The magazine's editors listed the 37-year-old Wells in a "40 Under 40" feature article, describing him among a group of executives who are "standouts who will be carving out the future of finance."

Wells' responsibilities include Goodyear's financial risk management, treasury policy, and the company's relationships with the banking community. He was one of the key participants in renegotiating the company's credit agreements in early 2003. Before joining Goodyear in August 2002, Wells was assistant treasurer of Visteon Corp for two years, and led the development of its treasury operation as it was spun off from Ford Motor Company. Earlier, Wells worked in Ford's Australian operations and held various finance positions at Ford Motor Credit, where he was hired in 1989 as a financial analyst.

An announcement at Yahoo! Finance notes that "Wells has a bachelor of arts degree from DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana, and a master of business administration in finance from Indiana University." You can read more by clicking here.
