2003 All-Campus Student Art Show Opens Thursday

November 30, 2003, Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw University's annual, juried All-Campus Student Art Show, an annual juried exhibition of art created by students from the entire DePauw campus, opens Thursday, December 4 and continues through Sunday, December 14. The campus-wide, multi-media exhibition features ceramics, drawings, paintings, photography, mixed media works and video created by DePauw students. This year's guest juror is Jayne Hileman, associate professor and chair of the Art & Design Department at Saint Xavier University, Chicago. Awards will be announced during the show's opening reception on December 4, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the Visual Arts Gallery of the Peeler Art Center.

Jayne Hileman received her M.F.A. in painting from Brooklyn College, Brooklyn, New York, and a B.A. in Psychology from Cornell University, Ithaca, New York. She is currently an associate professor of painting and drawing at Indiana University, Bloomington, and has also taught at the New York Academy of Art, Dartmouth College and Brooklyn College. In 1994 she received the Emil and Dines Carlsen Award from the National Academy of Design, New York. Her work has been exhibited in both solo and group exhibitions at venues that include the ARC Gallery, Chicago; the Indianapolis Museum of Art; First Street Gallery, New York; and the Andrews Gallery, William and Mary College, Williamsburg, Virginia.
