Four Phi Delts Receive Lund Scholarships

April 19, 2004

April 19, 2004, Greencastle, Ind. - Four members of Phi Delta Theta, Indiana Zeta chapter at DePauw University are being rewarded for their scholarship and community involvement through the generosity of the late Albert L. Lund Jr., a 1948 graduate of DePauw and a Phi Delt. Sophomores Matthew Ehinger of Fort Wayne, Indiana and Zachary Pfister of Jasper, Indiana; and juniors Andrew Behrmann (Avon, Indiana) and Rick Livingston (Oak Dale, Minnesota) have been selected to receive Lund Scholarships of $5,000 each for the 2004-05 academic year. Livingston and Behrmann, who is currently studying off campus, are repeat winners and have Lund Scholarships for the current academic year. (pictured, l-r: Pfister, Ehinger and Livingston)

Albert Lund established the scholarship in 1999, to reward members of his fraternity for their dedication to academics and their involvement in campus and community activities. Mr. Lund passed away last May. "DePauw and Phi Delt were very dear to my father, and this is a wonderful way to continue his legacy and create opportunities for new generations of scholars," said Larry Lund '77, the son of Albert Lund and also a Phi Delt, who returned to campus to announce the scholarship recipients. He was joined by other members of the Lund Scholarship committee, Lindsey Lund Peterik '74 and Ed Gower '77, and a number of DePauw faculty members who attended the scholarship dinner.

"My father was a Rector Scholar at DePauw, and without that money could not have attended this University," said Larry Lund. "It brought my dad great pleasure exchanging e-mails and letters with the young men who became Lund Scholars, and how the awards helped the students realize their potential."
