Richard Williams '65 Named Chair of ISTA Pharmaceuticals Board

July 14, 2004, Greencastle, Ind. - Richard C. Williams -- president of Conner-Thoele Limited, chairman of Cellegy Pharmaceuticals and a 1965 graduate of DePauw University -- has been named chairman of the board of directors of ISTA Pharmaceuticals, Inc. Williams has served on ISTA's board since November 2002 and is the lead independent director and chairman of the board's audit committee. ISTA is a specialty pharmaceutical company focused on the development and commercialization of unique and uniquely improved ophthalmic products.

Finance states that Williams' "previous senior management roles include vice chairman-strategic planning and director of King Pharmaceuticals, Inc.; chairman and director of Medco Research; and co-chairman and a director of Vysis, a genetic biopharmaceutical company. Mr. Williams held various operational and financial management officer positions with Erbamont, N.V., Field Enterprises, Inc., Abbott Laboratories and American Hospital Supply Corporation ... Mr. Williams is also a director of EP Med Systems. Mr. Williams received a B.A. degree from DePauw University and an M.B.A. from the Wharton School of Finance."
