Chuck Bark '73 Joins WBRZ-TV as Director of News

December 2, 2004, Greencastle, Ind. - Chuck Bark, a 1973 graduate of DePauw University, has been appointed director of news at WBRZ, the ABC television affiliate in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Bark previously served as the news director for WALA-TV in Mobile, Alabama, for 14 years and before that was assistant news director at WMC-TV in Memphis, Tennessee.

"Local news and our news operation is a top priority of this TV station," says Rocky Daboval, director of sales at WBRZ, whoc will become the station's general manager next month. "We are pleased to have someone with Chuck's proven leadership and news experience to take over the reins of this important position."

A news story on the station's Web site states, "Bark has been in broadcast news for over 26 years. His BA is in political science from DePauw University and he has his MA in communications from Memphis State University... Bark has been part of newsrooms which have earned numerous RTNDA, Associated Press and community awards."
