15th-ranked Tigers improve to 4-1 with 75-44 win over Manchester

December 3, 2004, Greencastle, Ind. - The 15th-ranked DePauw women scored the final 16 points of the first half and opened the second with a 13-3 run to coast to a 75-44 win over visiting Manchester in the evening's second game of the DePauw Classic. DePauw improved to 4-1 with the win, while the Spartans dropped to 3-3.

The teams battled through a tight first half that included four ties and seven lead changes with Manchester leading by as many as four on two occasions. The Tigers held a 28-27 advantage with just over six minutes to play before holding the Spartans scoreless the rest of the half.

Amy Argetsinger led the DePauw scoring attack with 16 points, while Sarah Zondor added 14 and Jordan Cuddy followed with 11. Lindsay Houin grabbed a team-high seven rebounds for the Tigers who held a 38-28 advantage on the boards. Erica Sewell paced Manchester with 21 points and eight rebounds with Jessica Henn blocking four shots.

The Tigers shot 54 percent from the floor, while holding the Spartans to just under 32 percent including 17 percent in the second half. DePauw's Suzy Doughty and Caitlin McGonigal each dished out four assists, while Zondor added four steals. Kristen Estridge totaled a team-high three assists for Manchester and Karlene Cla added three steals.

DePauw faces 11th-ranked Millikin in Saturday's 4 p.m. game, while Rose-Hulman tangles with Manchester in the 2 p.m. contest in the predetermined schedule.
